Howard University Student Ambassador Update and Outreach Plan

This week, I’ve been focusing on my Black History Month Contest. I only received one submission, but the submission is a strong Photography submission that referenced the HistoryMakers, Gordon Parks and Louis Draper. I’ve communicated with my advisor about the best way to proceed forward with the prizes. However, below is a timeline I plan on conducting for my final outreach.

03/29/2023: Presentation in my advisor’s Digital Photography courses on The HistoryMakers Digital Archive.

03/30/2023: Presentation in Dr. Carr’s Introduction to African American Studies course on The HistoryMakers Digital Archive.

03/30/2023: Blog post on Insects and/or bugs

Zoé Coker

Zoé Coker (she/her) is currently a rising Junior in the Department of African American Studies at Howard University in Washington, DC. She is a published poet and utilizes the poetics of the everyday to mechanize her writings. She is also a student worker at the Moorland Spingarn Research Center, where she is training to become a future archivist. Her research interests include African American Music and Culture with a concentration in Jazz History. After completing her undergraduate degree, she plans on continuing her studies at New York University with a Masters in Archives and Public History.
