Taking things for Granted

When it comes to bugs and insects, most people get bothered, terrified or disgusted. However, I have never that type, neither has Curtis “Kojo” Morrow. Mr. Morrow is a Chicago Native and categorized as an ArtMaker in the Digital Archive Student Ambassador.

One of the first details that enclined me about Mr. Morrow was during his first interview with Lary Crowe. He talks about the origin of his real and given name. Not to mention, even his childhood name. His mom called him Sonny and friends called him Jimmy. They conducted the interview within his home, where he lived and worked as a fine art artist. Many artists utilize journeys and other natural elements, Curtis “Kojo” Morrow was one of those many. ‘

Fun fact as I was reading and listening to his testimonials, his favorite time of the year was the summer time. This lead me to discovering that his interview was filmed in 2003, a couple months after I was born. Not to mention, and his artwork is still making an impact.

One of the most interesting stories that I read in the Digital Archive was his time away in Ghana.
